Platinum Champion Volunteer Award for CEO Angela Burns

We are thrilled to announce that our CEO, Angela Burns, has been awarded a Platinum Champions Volunteer Award.

In honour of Her Majesty The Queen and the great example she has set in her 70 years of service, Royal Voluntary Service are celebrating the outstanding volunteers across the country who are making a difference every day with the Platinum Champions Awards.

Angela Burns, CEO of Webb Group has been chosen to receive a Platinum Champion Award among 490 others selected in recognition of her volunteering work with The Scout Association.

Angela gives her time to many scout endeavours including organising the weekly activities of the local Scout Group, including the many camps and trips each year and fundraising to take the scouts aboard, including a 10-day trip to Switzerland this summer with 27 children. She also holds various roles within the District helping train, develop and support new leaders

An extract from her nomination included: “She has phenomenal organisation skills and excellent qualities that bring out the best in children, inspiring them to achieve their potential. She consistently strikes the right balance between allowing the children space to express and enjoy themselves whilst ensuring this is done in a constructive and safe way.”

As a champion, Angela will receive a specially designed official Platinum Champion pin and a signed certificate from The Duchess of Cornwall.
