Funeral Receptions, Wakes & Celebrations of Life

Moor Hall Hotel & Spa in Four Oaks is a delightful four star country house hotel set in parkland. The venue is conveniently located only minutes away from Sutton Coldfield crematorium, Streetly crematorium, Sutton New Hall cemetery and local churches.

Moor Hall can cater for funeral receptions, wakes and celebrations of life for up to 250 guests. We offer ample free car parking, a choice of comfortable rooms, reception drinks, delicious buffets and accommodation if required for guests who have travelled to the wake.

Reception Rooms

Funeral receptions, wakes and celebrations of life can be held in a choice of elegant rooms.

Ladywood Room

20 to 30 guests | Room Hire: £275
A sophisticated ground floor room which overlooks the surrounding parkland. The room has its own private bar, access to the terrace and lawns and is furnished with plush leather chairs and oak panelling.

The Bracebridge

20 to 30 guests | Room Hire: £275
An elegant room on the first floor with views of the surrounding parkland.

The Oak Room Restaurant

40 to 50 guests | Room Hire: £375
The oak panelled restaurant is an elegant room with open fires and views of the surrounding parkland. It has direct access to the Lounge Bar.

Charter Bar

40 to 60 guests | Room Hire: £325
The stylish Charter Bar is a spacious area with its own direct access from the car park. It has a private bar and access to the conservatory.

Sutton Suite & Charter Bar

60 to 150 guests | Room Hire: £425
The Sutton Suite (half of the Charter Suite) is a large stylish function room with direct access to the private Charter Bar. Drinks receptions can be held in the bar with food served in the suite.

Charter Suite

Up to 250 guests | Room Hire: £475
For large funeral receptions, our Charter Suite can cater for up to 250 guests. This large function room is elegantly furnished with chandeliers and soft greys, cream and gold. The Charter Suite has a private bar, direct access from the car park and is surrounded by the conservatory which overlooks the parkland.

We are happy to advise you on the special touches that can make a Celebration of Life a truly memorable occasion - some examples of what we can arrange are listed below:

Reception Drinks

One of our Managers will greet you and your guests on arrival and our attentive staff will serve refreshments and stay on hand throughout the reception. A fully licensed bar is available which can be offered on a cash or account basis. Orange juice, sherry, house wine and prosecco are popular choices for reception drinks. However, alternative drinks are available - just let us know your preference.

Funeral Reception Accommodation

For guests who may have to travel a distance, we will be happy to arrange bedrooms at the hotel if required. Please mention this at the time of booking and we will be happy to look at rates for you.

April 2022 Celebration of Life - Pamela Roylance

Just wanted to say a big thank you to you and all of the staff at Moor Hall for the wonderful reception that you were able to put on for us last Wednesday to enable us to commemorate my Mum’s life. Everything went perfectly, the room set up, the really helpful attentive and professional staff that you had on that day, the bar manager who also helped my sister set up the laptop and slideshow. You all did Moor Hall proud, and helped make what was for us a difficult day into a day to remember for the positives. As a family, we have held many family events at Moor Hall over the years. You are our go-to hotel locally and after Wednesday I am sure Moor Hall will continue to be so for us. Again, many thanks.

Sept 2021 Celebration of life for Jean Morgan

I want to thank you so much for the lovely afternoon we had at Moor Hall in the Oak room following my Mum’s funeral. Please do thank the members of staff who served us for being so kind & attentive and the kitchen team for the lovely food. As a gesture of our appreciation, my sister has left a gratuity at reception.

We went there after a funeral, the hotel put on a lovely buffet with tea and coffee on the bar so we could help ourselves. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
