Embedding Sustainability in Heritage Hospitality
We’re delighted to have our hotels featured in the latest Sustainability West Midlands case study, Embedding Sustainability in Heritage Hospitality: The Webb Hotel Group Approach.
As a family-owned hospitality business with a long-standing heritage, sustainability has become an increasingly important part of how we operate, evolve and plan for the future. The case study reflects the journey we have been on to embed environmental responsibility across our hotels while continuing to preserve the character and identity that make heritage hospitality so unique.
One of the key themes highlighted in the study is that meaningful sustainability progress does not always come from one major transformation. Instead, it is often achieved through consistent, practical improvements over time. Across our portfolio, this has included initiatives such as biomass boilers, solar photovoltaic systems, EV charging infrastructure, voltage optimisation technology and stronger energy management processes.
The study also recognises the importance of culture and collaboration in driving long-term change. Through internal Green Teams and a shared commitment across the business, sustainability has become part of our everyday operations rather than a standalone initiative.
We are particularly pleased that the case study acknowledges the balance between innovation and heritage preservation. Older buildings naturally present unique challenges when it comes to energy efficiency and retrofit projects, but we believe established businesses can continue to evolve without losing the identity and values that define them.
Being included in this Sustainability West Midlands case study is a proud moment for the Group and reinforces our commitment to building a more sustainable future for hospitality through practical, long-term action.
