In order to comply with the Government’s directives to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus it is with great sadness that we announce that Moor Hall Hotel & Spa is now temporarily closed until further notice.
We are so fortunate to have such a great team and wonderful business and we sincerely thank our guests, members, staff and suppliers for your loyalty and support. We hope that you can stay in touch with us via our social media pages where we will be posting frequent updates.
Please note that we are currently experiencing a high volume of calls and emails and only have limited staff on hand to help, so we are contacting bookings in date order. We really appreciate your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time. If you have a booking with us, please rest assured that we will be in contact with you shortly.

A message from our Chief Executive - 17th March 2020
Further to the government’s update yesterday (16th March) we wanted to let all of our loyal guests know that for now Moor Hall Hotel & Spa remains open for business and we thank you for continuing to support our teams by staying, dining and visiting our business. We are monitoring the Coronavirus situation carefully and regularly and will continue to react accordingly.
As an independent family owned business we employ many people from the local area and our key priority is to keep our teams in jobs whilst following government guidelines. This is a challenging time for the hospitality industry and now more than ever we need your support. We hope you understand that until we are told differently from the government we remain open for business. From today (17th March) we are implementing social distancing within our restaurants. We are removing tables to ensure there is a larger space between each table. This is in addition to following the robust procedures we already have put in place including the additional cleaning of key areas and touch points.

Cancellation Policy Update - 17th March 2020
Our new policy, should your travel plans change
Following government guidance in regard to travel restrictions, we would like to reassure you that Moor Hall is still open, however, we recognise that flexibility is of the utmost importance at this time of uncertainty and have temporarily changed our terms and conditions. When making your reservation, we want you to feel confident that should your plans need to change, you have the flexibility to postpone or cancel on the following basis:
Individual bedroom reservations on a fully cancellable rate will remain on current terms – 4pm day before arrival. Those booked on a non-refundable advance purchase rate can now be postponed and can be re-booked up until 31 October 2020, subject to availability.
Spa days and spa treatments can now be postponed up to 7 days in advance at no cost and with a full refund. At 48-hours prior to arrival date they can be rebooked up until 31 October 2020, subject to availability. Any cancellations less than 48 hours prior to arrival date there will be no refund or postponement.
Should the new dates for either bedroom or spa reservations be at a different price point, you will be asked to pay the difference.
For complete flexibility over a longer period of time, our flexible room rates allow bookings to be amended or cancelled before 4pm on the day prior to arrival, so we would advise you to choose this option for any new bedroom reservations. However we can also offer our non-refundable advance purchase rate and should your plans change you can postpone your booking up until 31 October 2020, subject to availability.
UPDATE - 13TH MARCH 2020
As the health and wellbeing of our guests is our highest priority we would like to assure you that we are monitoring the Coronavirus situation carefully and regularly.
We are closely following Public Health England’s guidelines. Their view is that there is no reason for people to stop engaging in their regular daily activities and we remain open for business as normal. Our care and concern is not only for our guests but also our team. Please be assured that should any member of the team feel they should self-isolate they will be encouraged to do so and we will take no risks for the benefit of everyone. However, in line with the guidelines we have increased our cleaning routines throughout the hotel and strengthened hygiene and sanitisation in public areas.
Additional cleaning of key areas
We are ensuring our staff are taking extra care and additional cleaning when cleaning door handles, banisters, tables, cutlery, crockery, glassware, toilets and all additional areas of the hotel. The health and safety of our guests is paramount to us so please feel rest assured that we are doing all we can be doing to ensure that Moor Hall Hotel & Spa is a safe and clean place to be.
The Leisure Club’s contract cleaners have been provided with a specialist cleaning solution called ALCOSAN VT10. They will continue to ensure all surface areas are cleaned thoroughly and they will undertake additional deep cleaning of the following areas every evening:
• Changing rooms
The staff will clean the gym equipment throughout the day with approved sanitiser and they will also deep clean the following areas:
• Sauna (2.30pm and 9.30pm for half an hour)
• Steam room (2.30pm and 9.30pm for half an hour)
Public Health England’s opinion is that it is generally safe to go swimming at this time, as water and chlorine within the swimming pool will help to kill the virus.
For everyone’s safety, we are following the Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group’s advice which means:
• Frequent, regular testing of the pool water for pH and disinfectant levels
• Ensuring that pH and disinfectant levels comply with the Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group’s guidance as set out in their code of practice
• Monthly bacteriological tests of pool water by an UKAS approved laboratory
• Regular cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched objects and surfaces in the pool environment
How to protect yourself
We ask you all to protect yourself and your fellow guests from the spread of infection by following Public Health England’s advice.
• Wash your hands frequently and for 20 seconds using soap and water (especially when you get to work, the hotel or arrive home), after you blow your nose, cough or sneeze and before you eat or handle food. We have provided alcohol-based hand sanitiser at various points around the hotel, but the best way to protect yourself from infections like Coronavirus is to regularly wash your hands with soap and water. Proper hand washing is the most effective way of killing viruses and this should be your first choice.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Hands can easily pick up viruses and once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and make you ill.
• Practice respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze, and disposing of the used tissue immediately.
• Clean and wipe down the gym equipment after use using the sanitiser spray provided (next to the water fountain).
• Shower before entering and on leaving the pool.
We wish to reassure you that we will continue to follow the latest Public Health England advice and that we are doing everything we can to minimise the risk to all visitors. We will issue further updates when appropriate but if you have any questions please contact us.
Due to the uncertainty with the coronavirus currently we are changing our cancellation policy. If you make a new direct booking and wish to book on an advanced purchase rate and you are unable to travel, providing you give us 3 days’ notice we will transfer your booking to another date of your choice at no extra cost. The new booking must be made before 31st October 2020 and is subject to availability.
