Rachel Jukes and Paul Jarrett had always wanted to get married at Moor Hall Hotel & Spa and this spring they did just that.
Tell us a little about your love story
“We have been together 10 years since meeting at a friend’s house party. Paul proposed on a weekend away to Coventry, down on one knee in a beautiful garden.”
Why did you choose Moor Hall Hotel & Spa for your wedding?
“Moor Hall was always our first choice, we’d stayed there a couple of years before and we knew it was where we would want to get married one day. From the drive up to the hotel itself, to the beautiful grounds, Moor Hall ticked all the right boxes for us. It had such a lasting impact on us from just a weekend stay -- there was no question about it being our wedding venue. After our wedding we could not recommend Moor Hall enough, it is just a stunning place in every way possible, and the amount of lovely comments and feedback we had from our guests made it obvious to us that we had made the right choice. “
What did you love most about your day?
“Every part of our day was amazing, we could not choose one part that we loved the most. We had wonderful weather and all of our dearest family and friends were there to celebrate with us. Every part of our special day went exactly how we had imagined it and we also had some lovely surprise elements along the way such as our ceremony room being decorated with beautiful arches and scattered flowers along a white carpet and then our amazing Avengers theme wedding cake which we waited to see until the actual day!”
What inspired you in your preparations?
“While we were planning our wedding, we wanted to stay as traditional as possible but add a little bit of our personalities and interests too. We wanted there to be elements of both of us. We had glitz and glam -- for example jewels and fairy lights on our centre piece trees, and then our table plan, names and place cards were Avengers themed to match our cake design.”
Do you remember it all or did it go too quickly?
“Although the day did go quickly we remember all of the different parts of each, such as getting ready, the ceremony, photos in the beautiful grounds at Moor Hall and then the amazing speeches at our wedding breakfast. “
Tell us about the food!
“The food was lovely, all our guests commented on how much they had enjoyed it. We stayed quite traditional with our choices again and for starters we had duck croquettes, followed by a blood orange sorbet. The main course was corn fed chicken, dauphinoise potatoes and vegetables and to top it off for dessert we had sticky toffee pudding.”
Is there anything you’d like to add?
“We could not praise the staff enough. They helped with the whole running of our special day starting with the wedding planner who went through everything and told us what we would need to arrange and do. This was over a period of around 16 months and she was on hand right up until the week before the wedding. Then the staff on the night before and the actual day were amazing too; nothing was too much for them and they went out of their way to ensure we all had the day we had always dreamed of. “
